PagerDuty Integrations Without Constraints

The connector authenticates with OAuth 2.0 or an Integration Key. Access is scoped, audited and revocable at any time. Flows can read and write tickets, incidents and change records across the full ITSM lifecycle. Every integration starts with a connection and a trigger. You authenticate once, and IntelliPaaS stores the credential in an encrypted vault. The Integration Key is the value PagerDuty generates when you add an integration to a service, copied from Services, then Service Directory, then the Integrations tab. It scopes the connection to that one service, so a flow can never reach data it was not granted. Events then move in both directions. Inbound webhooks fire when an incident is triggered, acknowledged, escalated, reassigned or resolved, and the matching flow starts in under a second. Outbound flows create and update incidents through the Events API v2 using the Integration Key, and call the REST API for schedules, escalation policies and users. Linking alerting data to HR, monitoring and ERP systems closes the loop between IT operations and the rest of the business. Mean time to resolution drops. Service records stay accurate in every system of record.

Where do I find my Integration Key?

Open Services, then Service Directory, then select your service and open the Integrations tab. Click the menu beside the integration to view and copy the key. You paste it into IntelliPaaS once, and it is stored encrypted from then on.

Does the connector use the Events API v2 or the REST API?

Both. The Events API v2 sends and updates incidents using an Integration Key. The REST API handles schedules, escalation policies, users and teams with OAuth 2.0.

How do I set up a PagerDuty integration?

Four steps. Connect the account with OAuth 2.0 or an Integration Key. Pick a trigger, such as an incident event or a schedule change. Map the fields between systems, adding conditions or a script step where needed. Then test against a non-production service, review the audit log and promote the flow.

What happens if the incident platform is unreachable?

Events queue and retry with exponential backoff. Anything that still fails lands in a dead-letter queue you can inspect and replay, so no incident is silently lost.

Can I sync on-call schedules in both directions?

Yes. Schedule and override changes can flow out to Workday, Active Directory or a calendar, and roster changes in those systems can write back.

How much event volume can the connector handle?

Flows scale horizontally and are tested against sustained alert storms. Rate limits are respected automatically with backpressure, so bursts queue rather than drop.
