Connect Zoho Assist Without Constraints

IntelliPaaS connects Zoho Assist with your service desk, monitoring and communication systems, automating session initiation, unattended device access and support record capture across cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments.

Zoho publishes a named tool set for the Assist MCP server covering session lifecycle, unattended device management and support artefact retrieval, including startSession, scheduleSession, unattendedSession, fetchSessionReports and the download tools for chats, notes, screenshots and recordings. That specificity makes Assist unusually well suited to automation: a ticket can open a session, and the session's own record can close the ticket.

Zoho Assist integration capabilities

  • Start remote support sessions and generate technician and customer URLs.
  • Schedule future sessions with title, participant and department detail.
  • Launch unattended access sessions against configured remote devices.
  • List and inspect unattended devices and manage device groups.
  • Retrieve session reports covering duration, technician and status.
  • Download session chats, notes, screenshots and recordings into the ticket record.

These map directly to tools Zoho documents for the Assist MCP server. IntelliPaaS wires them to the systems where support work is tracked, so technicians spend their time in the session rather than in the admin around it.

Common integration scenarios

  • Start a Zoho Assist session automatically from a high-priority Zoho Desk ticket.
  • Attach session recordings and notes to the originating ticket on completion.
  • Trigger unattended remote access when PagerDuty raises a device alert.
  • Post session start and completion events to a Slack support channel.
  • Feed session duration and resolution data into Snowflake for support analytics.

These patterns are common in managed service providers and internal IT functions, where the overhead around a support session often exceeds the session itself. Each is configurable without code in the IntelliPaaS flow builder.

Deployment & security

Remote access is among the most security-sensitive capabilities in an IT estate, and its audit trail matters as much as its function. IntelliPaaS supports private cloud and on-premise orchestration with full regional data residency, and logs every automated session action.

Why IntelliPaaS

  • Built on Zoho's official first-party MCP service, not a third-party wrapper.
  • A fully documented tool set covering the whole session lifecycle.
  • Agents inherit the authorising user's Zoho Assist permissions by design.
  • Enterprise-grade observability with monitoring, alerting and audit logging.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does the Zoho MCP connection work?

Zoho hosts the MCP server. You create it in the Zoho MCP console, enable the Zoho Assist tools your workflow needs, and connect over OAuth. Agents act under the authorising user's own Zoho permissions, so they can only do what that user could do directly. IntelliPaaS orchestrates that server alongside the rest of your stack.

Do we have to build anything on the Zoho side?

You create the server and select its tools in the Zoho MCP console, with no code required. Zoho recommends keeping a server to roughly 300 tools so the agent stays accurate, which is why IntelliPaaS scopes each connector and pack to a focused set of Assist operations rather than exposing everything at once.

Which Assist operations are available?

Zoho documents tools for starting, scheduling and running unattended sessions, retrieving user and session details, listing and grouping unattended devices, and downloading session chats, notes, screenshots and recordings.

Can an agent start a remote session without a human?

Technically yes, and many teams deliberately do not allow it. Unattended session tools can be excluded from the server entirely, or gated behind an approval step in IntelliPaaS so a technician confirms before any connection is made.

Is my data secure?

Authentication runs on OAuth and every agent action is bounded by the authorising user's role and scope. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and IntelliPaaS is GDPR-ready. Session artefacts can be routed into your own systems rather than left in shared storage.
