ShipBob's MCP server is Streamable HTTP only — stdio and SSE are explicitly unsupported — and runs in two environments, production and a genuine sandbox, which makes proving a fulfilment flow before it touches real orders straightforward. Authentication is OAuth with a browser consent flow, and the permission model has one quirk worth designing around: read access covers every channel on the merchant account, but write access is confined to the channel created at the consent screen, so attempts to modify records owned by other channels fail. Product-level writes are the exception. Coverage spans orders, inventory, products, channels, shipments and tracking, with querying alongside creating, updating and cancelling. Standard ShipBob API rate limits apply, so IntelliPaaS paces work accordingly.

What authentication does the connector use?
OAuth 2.0 through a browser consent flow — ShipBob's server handles the handshake so no tokens reach the client. An experimental API token path also exists but the OAuth route is the supported one.
Why do some writes fail?
This is the model to know about. Read access covers every channel on the account, but write access is limited to the channel created at the consent screen, so modifying records owned by another channel returns a permission error. Product-level writes are the exception.
Is there a sandbox?
Yes — a separate sandbox endpoint with its own account, so a fulfilment flow can be proven end to end before it touches live orders. Credentials must match the environment.
