ClickHouse Partner ConnectorConnect ClickHouse Without Constraints
IntelliPaaS seamlessly connects ClickHouse with your core business systems, enabling no-code integration for analytical querying, service monitoring and data pipeline reporting across cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments.
ClickHouse offers a hosted remote server for ClickHouse Cloud and a local server for self-hosted deployments, and the design decision worth noting is that the remote one is read-only by policy — ClickHouse states plainly that no tool can modify data, alter service configuration or perform a destructive operation, a deliberate choice against prompt-injection risk. Remote authentication is OAuth 2.0 only, with existing Cloud role-based access checked per user, and each service has to be enabled for MCP individually in the console. Thirteen tools cover select queries, database and table listing, organisation and service detail, backups, ClickPipes and organisation cost. The local server takes host and credential environment variables and adds an optional embedded query engine. A separate observability server for ClickStack does write, and should not be confused with these.
ClickHouse integration capabilities
- Run select queries against databases the connected user can access.
- List databases and tables and read their structure.
- Read organisation and service details.
- List backups and read backup detail and configuration.
- List and read ClickPipes ingestion pipelines.
- Read organisation cost for usage reporting.
These capabilities let analytical data and platform state reach the systems that report on them, without opening a SQL console. IntelliPaaS handles field mapping, pagination and data type transformation automatically.
Common integration scenarios
- Serve query results into Slack, Google Sheets or an operational system on a schedule.
- Trigger a workflow when a ClickHouse metric crosses a threshold.
- Monitor ClickPipes ingestion health and alert on failure.
- Blend ClickHouse output with Power BI or warehouse reporting.
- Report organisation cost and service usage for chargeback.
These scenarios address the most common friction in analytical platforms — answers that require a SQL console, spend and pipeline health tracked separately — by automating the flows between ClickHouse and the platforms around it.
Deployment & security
Flexible deployment is essential for organisations operating in regulated industries or jurisdictions with strict data residency requirements. IntelliPaaS supports private cloud and on-premise deployments with full regional data sovereignty, and ClickHouse's local server runs against self-hosted clusters so residency follows your own deployment. All deployment modes receive the same feature set, connector library and support tier, with no capability trade-offs based on deployment choice.
Why IntelliPaaS
- No-code to pro-code flexibility for all integration needs.
- End-to-end security with OAuth 2.0 and per-user Cloud role-based access checks.
- Read-only by design on the hosted server, a deliberate choice against prompt-injection risk.
- Enterprise-grade observability with monitoring, alerting and audit logging.

Frequently asked questions
What authentication does the connector use?
OAuth 2.0 only on the ClickHouse Cloud remote server — no API keys — with the identity acting strictly on behalf of the user and existing Cloud role-based access checked per request. The local server takes host, user and password environment variables.
Can it write to ClickHouse?
Not through the hosted server. ClickHouse states plainly that no tool can modify data, alter service configuration or perform a destructive operation — a deliberate design decision. Note that the separate ClickStack observability server does write and is a different thing.
What has to be enabled first?
The remote server is enabled per service in the Cloud console, under the service's connect settings. Until that is done for a given service, it is not reachable through MCP.
Can I deploy on-premise or in a private cloud?
Yes. Cloud (SaaS), private cloud in your own VPC, and fully on-premise or air-gapped deployments are all supported, and self-hosted clusters use the local server.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and IntelliPaaS is GDPR-ready. The hosted server is read-only and role-checked per user, and on-prem modes keep analytical data inside your own infrastructure boundary.
