Docebo's MCP server is per-tenant — the endpoint lives on your own Docebo instance — and setup involves three parties: a Docebo superadmin creates an OAuth 2.0 application, an admin configures the MCP server and chooses which tools it exposes, and then the AI assistant's own administrator connects it. There are two server flavours: a fixed built-in learner server, and custom servers where the tool selection is yours. Everything operates inside existing Docebo permissions, so a user sees exactly what they would see in the platform. It is in beta with the current focus on learner tools, and production access is granted on request while sandbox is open — worth planning for. What authentication does the connector use?
OAuth 2.0. A Docebo superadmin creates an OAuth application with the authorization code grant, and the server then operates entirely within existing Docebo permissions — a user sees exactly what they would see in the platform. Single sign-on is supported.
Can it take actions in Docebo?
Yes — MCP clients can act on your behalf, including enrolling individuals or groups, removing or archiving enrolments and updating courses, bounded by the acting user's permissions and the tools the admin has exposed.
How mature is it?
Beta, with the current release focused on learner tools and manager and administrator capabilities to follow. Sandbox access is open and production access is granted on request, so plan the enablement conversation with Docebo early.
Can I deploy on-premise or in a private cloud?
