freee's MCP server comes in two forms — a hosted remote endpoint, currently a beta, and a local package — and both take a deliberately generic shape. Rather than a tool per resource there are verb-level tools for get, post, put, patch and delete, plus path discovery and file upload, with every request validated against freee's own OpenAPI schemas. That gives coverage across roughly 270 APIs spanning accounting, HR and payroll, invoicing, time tracking, sales and IT management, with tax filing and fixed assets on the remote path. Authentication is OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and permissions are exactly the signed-in freee user's, with explicit tools for listing and switching the current company. Two notes: electronic contracts are local-only for now, and the remote version expects an accompanying skills bundle in the client.

What authentication does the connector use?
OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. On the remote path you sign in to freee and consent in the browser; the local path uses an app registered in the freee app store. Permissions are exactly the signed-in user's, with explicit tools for switching the current company.
How mature is it?
The remote version is a stated beta, with no guarantee of completeness or accuracy, while the local package is open source and actively maintained. We gate writes behind approvals accordingly.
Is everything available remotely?
Almost. Electronic contracts through freee Sign are local-only for now, with remote support in preparation. The remote version also expects an accompanying skills bundle installed in the client for correct behaviour.
Can I deploy on-premise or in a private cloud?
Yes. Cloud (SaaS), private cloud in your own VPC, and fully on-premise or air-gapped deployments are all supported, with full feature parity across every mode.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and IntelliPaaS is GDPR-ready. Access never exceeds the connected freee user's own permissions, and on-prem modes keep accounting and payroll data inside your own infrastructure boundary.
