Amplitude hosts its server at mcp.amplitude.com, with a separate EU endpoint for European data residency, authenticated by OAuth against an Amplitude account rather than API keys. Access is governed by two distinct RBAC actions — Use MCP (read) and Use MCP (write) — scoped per project, so an organisation can grant analysis without granting change. Writes touch definitions only: charts, dashboards, cohorts, experiments and taxonomy, never production event data, which continues to flow through Amplitude's SDKs.
