Connect Ramp Without Constraints

IntelliPaaS seamlessly connects Ramp with your core business systems, enabling no-code integration for spend management, expense coding and close reporting across cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments.

Ramp's MCP server is one of the few with a genuine sandbox — a demo endpoint alongside production, which makes proving a flow before it touches real spend straightforward. Authentication is an OAuth browser flow and the connection acts as the authorising Ramp user, carrying that person's role and permissions verbatim; admin-only tools need Admin or Business Owner rights. Coverage is broad and bidirectional: reading transactions, reimbursements, bills, cards, balances, vendors, trips and spend exports, and writing memos, categories, approvals, card locks, trips and comments. Every write lands in the Ramp audit log, which is a strong compliance story. Two hard limits shape design: no file uploads or downloads, so receipts cannot be attached this way, and query responses cap at one hundred rows.

Ramp integration capabilities

  • Search and retrieve transactions, reimbursements, bills and spend exports.
  • Read cards, funds, account balances, vendors, users, trips and bookings.
  • Edit transactions — memo, category and trip assignment.
  • Submit reimbursements and approve or reject transactions and requests.
  • Lock, unlock and activate cards, and create trips.
  • Post comments and mention users, with every write recorded in the audit log.

These capabilities keep spend data flowing into the systems that account for it, and let routine coding and approvals happen where the work already is. IntelliPaaS handles field mapping, pagination and data type transformation automatically.

Common integration scenarios

  • Post Ramp transactions and reimbursements into NetSuite, Xero or QuickBooks with coding applied.
  • Apply category and cost centre coding from the ERP's own chart of accounts.
  • Route approvals and chase missing memos through Slack or Microsoft Teams.
  • Load spend by team, vendor and category into Power BI or Snowflake.
  • Reconcile card balances and settlements against the general ledger.

These scenarios address the most common friction in spend management — transactions coded by hand, approvals chased over email, a close that waits on expense data — by automating the flows between Ramp and the platforms around it.

Deployment & security

Flexible deployment is essential for organisations operating in regulated industries or jurisdictions with strict data residency requirements. IntelliPaaS supports private cloud and on-premise deployments with full regional data sovereignty, which matters here because Ramp publishes a single global endpoint with no regional variants. All deployment modes receive the same feature set, connector library and support tier, with no capability trade-offs based on deployment choice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What authentication does the connector use?

An OAuth 2.0 browser flow. The connection acts as the Ramp user who authorised it and carries that person's role and permissions verbatim; admin-only tools require Admin or Business Owner rights. Custom clients need their redirect URI allowlisted exactly — no wildcard subdomains.

Can it approve spend and edit transactions?

Yes — editing memos, categories and trip assignment, submitting reimbursements, approving or rejecting transactions and requests, locking and activating cards, and creating trips. Bill approvals are not available through MCP.

What are the hard limits?

No file uploads or downloads, so receipts cannot be attached through MCP, and query responses cap at one hundred rows. IntelliPaaS handles receipts and bulk extracts through Ramp's other interfaces.

Can I deploy on-premise or in a private cloud?

Yes. Cloud (SaaS), private cloud in your own VPC, and fully on-premise or air-gapped deployments are all supported, with full feature parity across every mode.

Is my data secure?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and IntelliPaaS is GDPR-ready. Every write is recorded in Ramp's audit log, admins can review every connected AI tool, and on-prem modes keep financial data inside your own infrastructure boundary.
