Brex Partner ConnectorConnect Brex Without Constraints
IntelliPaaS seamlessly connects Brex with your core business systems, enabling no-code integration for spend management, expense reconciliation and close reporting across cloud, on-prem and hybrid environments.
Brex hosts its MCP server at api.brex.com/mcp and supports two authentication paths: OAuth with dynamic client registration, which handles scopes automatically and is the recommended route, or API keys from the developer settings for programmatic access, where an admin grants scopes by hand. Either way your Brex permissions carry over — an agent sees and changes only what you are authorised to. The tool surface is deliberately asymmetric: roughly forty tools covering users, expenses, cards and limits, banking accounts and transactions, bills and vendors, and travel, but write access is confined to memos, receipts, attendees and spend limits on your own transactions. Approvals and card management are not exposed. Connecting Brex to IntelliPaaS means spend data reaches the ledger continuously rather than at month end.
Brex integration capabilities
- List and look up users across the account.
- List and view expenses, and update memos, receipts and attendees on your own transactions.
- View cards and spend limits, and assign cards to limits.
- Read banking accounts and transactions.
- Read bills and vendor records.
- Read travel trips, bookings and events.
These capabilities keep spend data flowing into the systems that account for it, so reconciliation stops being a month-end exercise. IntelliPaaS handles field mapping, currency handling and data type transformation automatically.
Common integration scenarios
- Post Brex expenses and card transactions into NetSuite, Xero or QuickBooks with coding applied.
- Reconcile banking transactions against the general ledger on a schedule.
- Chase missing receipts and memos through Slack until an expense is complete.
- Load spend by team, vendor and category into Power BI or Snowflake.
- Match vendor bills in Brex against purchase orders in Coupa or the ERP.
These scenarios address the most common friction in spend management — receipts chased by email, card transactions coded by hand, a close that waits on expense data — by automating the flows between Brex and the platforms around it.
Deployment & security
Flexible deployment is essential for organisations operating in regulated industries or jurisdictions with strict data residency requirements. IntelliPaaS supports private cloud and on-premise deployments with full regional data sovereignty, which matters here because Brex publishes a single global MCP endpoint with no regional variants. All deployment modes receive the same feature set, connector library and support tier, with no capability trade-offs based on deployment choice.
Why IntelliPaaS
- No-code to pro-code flexibility for all integration needs.
- End-to-end security with OAuth scope handling and inherited Brex permissions.
- Narrow write surface, so financial records stay authoritative in Brex.
- Enterprise-grade observability with monitoring, alerting and audit logging.

Frequently asked questions
What authentication does the connector use?
OAuth with dynamic client registration is the recommended path and handles the required scopes automatically. API keys from developer settings are also supported for programmatic access, with scopes granted manually. Your Brex permissions carry over either way.
What can it change in Brex?
Very little by design. Writes are limited to memos, receipts, attendees and spend limits on your own transactions. Approvals and card management are not exposed through MCP.
Does it need an administrator to switch on?
Yes, in two places. An account or card admin must accept the Developer API agreement under Settings, Developer, and enable the feature under the early access settings.
Can I deploy on-premise or in a private cloud?
Yes. Cloud (SaaS), private cloud in your own VPC, and fully on-premise or air-gapped deployments are all supported, with full feature parity across every mode.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and IntelliPaaS is GDPR-ready. Access follows your existing Brex role, and on-prem modes keep financial data inside your own infrastructure boundary.
