Planful's MCP server is a recent addition and is deliberately narrow: read-only by design, so plan and actuals data can be queried but never changed. Authentication is OAuth with the user's own Planful credentials, and the security model is the part worth highlighting for a finance audience — dimension security, scenario security and role-based access are all enforced at query time, before any data leaves Planful, so nobody sees anything through an assistant that they could not see in the product. Planful also states the data is never used to train external models. Claude is supported today with other clients following. What authentication does the connector use?

Can it change planning data?
